All American OpenScience articles are published under the terms of Creative Commons Attribution International License (CC BY License). The CC BY License allows users to freely copy, distribute, adapt and transmit any article, as long as the original work is appropriately cited in the manner specified by the copyright owner. Abstracts and full texts of all articles shall be made freely available in PDF, HTML and XML formats, immediately after publication.

American OpenScience will make reasonable efforts to delete your Profile and personal information content upon termination of your Account. You acknowledge and agree that: (a) caching of, copies of, or references to such User Content may not be immediately removed; (b) such removed Content may persist in backups for a reasonable period of time; and (c) such removed Content may continue to be publicly available (and stored on our or third party servers) through the accounts of other users, if the same has been Reposted.
Articles, figures, data, commentaries and any other information posted by you on American OpenScience will not be deleted upon termination of your account. By posting your articles, figures, and data, you acknowledge that American OpenScience has the right to maintain and distribute such content permanently, even after the termination of your account.
The service provided by American OpenScience is available on AmericanOpenScience.com website (https://www.americanopenscience.com). American OpenScience provides an online, open access, open review, open data, multidisciplinary, rapid and transparent publishing and social media platform for researchers of all disciplines and subjects to register, maintain a profile, connect and collaborate with other researchers, publish research findings, upload supporting files and data, and coordinate with the peer reviewers (in the preceding and hereinafter called “Service” or “Services”).
In order to maintain the integrity of our platform and quality of the review process, American OpenScience may verify the employment and/or affiliation, and previous publication details of the users who register as a reviewer and/or author. By registering on American OpenScience, you acknowledge and agree that we have the permissions to verify aforementioned details as and when needed.
Post-publication peer review process on American OpenScience is author-driven. Authors who submit articles to American OpenScience hereby agree that it is their responsibility to invite independent referees to review their manuscript and thereafter, respond to the referees’ comments during the open peer review process. Authors also agree to ensure that the newest version of their article and/or supporting data is uploaded to American OpenScience as and when available.
All the versions of an article published on American OpenScience and the underlying supporting data (where applicable) shall be maintained and made freely available to both the registered and non-registered users under the terms of open access without any embargo period or other restrictions.
American OpenScience assigns a unique Digital Object Identifier (DOI) to each version of an article and to every article published on American OpenScience. By citing an article that is published on American OpenScience, user agrees that the citation is version-specific. American OpenScience assumes no responsibility as to whatsoever if there arises any discrepancy between the citation and cited version of an article.
American OpenScience shall make reasonable effort to maintain the Service and Website available at all times. However, you acknowledge and agree that from time to time there may be interruptions to either all or part of our Services and Website while we:
- Perform general maintenance of the website
- Troubleshoot and fix any errors and bugs that are reported
- Service interruption from our hosting service providers and/or our other partners
- Install updates and perform other tasks that we deem essential from time to time
To the fullest extent permitted by law, American OpenScience and the third parties we work with, shall have no liability to you for any inconvenience suffered due to the unavailability of our Services, loss or corruption of any content, data or any other information on our website.

However, articles, figures, data, commentaries and any other information posted by you on American OpenScience will not be deleted upon termination of your account. By posting your articles, figures, and data, you acknowledge that American OpenScience has the right to maintain and distribute such content permanently, even after the termination of your account.
You hereby agree to defend, indemnify and hold us, our business partners, third-party suppliers and providers, licensors, officers, directors, employees, distributors and agents (collectively, the “Indemnified Parties”) harmless from and against any damages, losses, liabilities, settlements, and expenses (including without limitation costs and reasonable attorneys’ fees) in connection with any claim or action that
- arises from any alleged breach by you of this Terms of Service or any representations, warranties and/or covenants contained herein
- arises from the Content or effects of any comments you Post using our Services, or
American OpenScience website may contain links to third-party websites, advertisers, services, special offers, or other events or activities that are not owned or controlled by American OpenScience. We do not endorse or assume any responsibility for any such third-party sites, information, materials, products, or services. For any dispute you have with American OpenScience, you agree to first contact us by means provided on this website and attempt to resolve the dispute with us informally. If American OpenScience has not been able to resolve the dispute with you informally, we each agree to resolve any claim, dispute, or controversy (excluding claims for injunctive or other equitable relief) arising out of or in connection with or relating to these Terms by binding arbitration by the American Arbitration Association (“AAA”) under the Commercial Arbitration Rules and Supplementary Procedures for Consumer Related Disputes then in effect for the AAA, except as provided herein. Each party will be responsible for paying any AAA filing, administrative and arbitrator fees in accordance with AAA rules. Nothing in this Section shall prevent either party from seeking injunctive or other equitable relief from the courts for matters related to data security, intellectual property or unauthorized access to the Service. All claims must be brought in the parties’ individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class or representative proceeding, and, unless we agree otherwise, the arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person’s claims. You agree that, by entering into these terms, you and American OpenScience are each waiving the right to a trial by jury or to participate in a class action.
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without respect to its conflict of laws and principles. We each agree to submit to the personal jurisdiction of a state court located in Delaware County, Ohio, United States, for any actions not subject to Section 12 (Arbitration). Our Products are controlled and operated from the United States, and we make no representations that they are appropriate or available for use in other locations.
The Products and all included content are provided on an “as is” basis without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied. American OpenScience SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMS ANY AND ALL WARRANTIES AND CONDITIONS OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTIES ARISING OUT OF COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE OF TRADE. American OpenScience takes no responsibility and assumes no liability for any User Content that you or any other user or third party posts or transmits using our Products. You understand and agree that you may be exposed to User Content that is inaccurate, objectionable, or otherwise unsuited to your purpose.
